You Are What You Think

You Are What You ThinkHow many times a day do you focus on the negatives in your life? Stop and think about it for a moment… Once, twice, all day long! Are you aware that we tend to focus on the negatives 10 times more than the positives? As a matter of fact, some of you wake up in the morning, get out of bed and say a negative thing to yourself right away. You get up, look in the mirror and scream – “What is that!?”

Then you start getting ready for work. You look in the closet and low and behold you have NOTHING to wear! You mind has a way of stressing itself out by jumping to other issues. You not only look bad, but your in a dead end job, a loveless relationship and living in an area you can’t stand! Your life is in shambles!

There is an old adage that says, “You are what you eat.” Well the same holds true for your mind, “You are what you think.” Logically, most people realize that each day can be a struggle no matter who you are or what you do. It is your attitude that will make all the difference. Now think about this…

If you have negative thoughts in your mind what will you get in your life? Negatives! If you have positive thoughts what will you get? Positives! And if you don’t know what you want – what will happen? NOTHING! That’s right!

So check in with yourself on a daily basis and make a mental note of your reaction towards people, places and situations. It takes just one negative thought to cause stress in your life. Take the time to stop, take a deep breath and ask yourself – is it worth it? Then do what it takes to turn your thinking around to the positive! Make each day count and remember, you are what you think!
